A considered build beneath an existing home

The project called for a carefully sequenced basement build beneath an existing Victorian terraced house. Restricted access, close neighbouring properties and groundwater conditions all required a controlled approach from excavation through to the permanent structure.

Our scope included the underpinning strategy, reinforced concrete walls and slab, and a Delta Type C waterproofing system designed to manage water safely behind the internal finishes.

Construction details

Access and neighbours

The site was planned around restricted access and the need to protect adjoining properties throughout the works.

Water management

The waterproofing approach used a Delta Type C cavity drain system, integrating drainage behind the basement finish.

Concrete structure

Reinforced concrete walls and slab formed the permanent basement structure.

Project photography

Construction photographs for this Greenwich project will be added here to document each stage of the build.

Each completed case study will document the actual site conditions, construction sequence, timescale, structural approach and completed space alongside its own project photography.
